Heart Rate Calculator by Age
This heart rate calculator estimates your target heart rate zones based on your age and resting heart rate. Knowing your target heart rate is useful for optimizing the intensity of your workouts to improve cardiovascular fitness.
The calculator uses the Gellish formula (HRmax = 206.9 - (0.67 x age)) to estimate your maximum heart rate, which is considered more accurate than the common 220 - age formula. It then calculates your target heart rate zones as percentages of your heart rate reserve (HRR).
Note: This calculator provides general guidance and should not replace advice from a healthcare professional, especially if you have a heart condition or are new to exercise. Always listen to your body and consult your doctor before starting a new exercise program.
